When some cold tomorrow finds you And some sad old dream reminds you How the endless road unwinds you Find romance .. make it! While you see a chance .. take it!
When there's no one left to leave you Even you don't quite believe you That's when nothing can deceive you When that old grey wind is blowing When there's nothing left worth knowing And it's time you should be going Find romance .. make it! While you see a chance .. take it! Because it's all on you
Don't you know by now No one gives you anything? Don't you wonder how you keep on moving One more day .. your way?
While you see a chance .. take it! Find romance ....
When would Now be a good time?

I have heard it said since I was in my late teens that 'when we pray we speak to God and when we have desires God speaks to us'. I have liked this idea; it makes sense out of that oft repeated line in the New Testament: 'Before you ask it is given'.
As to what is God .. I leave each person to find this answer in their own way. For myself, mutual understanding is reached in the acceptance that there is a great, mysterious spirit animating all that exists around and within us. What the native peoples on this side of the sea have always, in fact, called: 'The Great Mystery'.
"I certainly hope your optimism will be rewarded and prove true ..."
It's worked so far!
Thank you for these words about the imagery! This is significant to me.
The truth about good words is that it is not they but us which grant them power to inform and envigorate. If we soak in good writing and ideas long enough, through focused attention, their meaning(s) will saturate and go deep within. When some phrase or poem stirs our senses we do well to ourselves if we absorb the words until we own them.
When we memorize a work of writing it is ours beyond loss. Once we ingest the words to a point where they resonate in our mind without being read no one can ever take them away from us.
"Mulling over", sadly, in the age of twittering, appears to be a lost art; although, I see, not completely.
As to my Dutch .. a few words is the least one can offer to friends as a native to English, which appears to have conquered all. I have adored languages since childhood, and even a few words can open windows to understanding into culture, history and even personality.
Ik ben niet een schooljongen, maar ik zal mijn best doen.
