Description
With no loving in our souls and no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
But Angie, I still love ya, baby
Ev'rywhere I look I see your eyes
There ain't a woman that comes close to you
Oh, Angie ... ain't it good to be alive?
—Mick Jagger & Keith Richards
Notes from July 21, 2010:
Last September I created a historical portrait of Olympias, the mother of Alexander the Great. As with Spartacus, my Olympias was inspired by a film portrayal, in this case performed by Angelina Jolie in the film Alexander. For Olympias I was working towards a likeness of the portrayal of the role and not the actress herself; naturally, there was still a fair similarity.
A few weeks later I returned to the Olympias files and adapted the morph to look more like Angie. After posting a single portrait I never did come around to working with her again. Last night I came upon the original of that portrait and treated it to some slight modifications and a few additional brushstrokes. I thought some of you would like to see the result. I sent Brad a copy this morning .. he had no idea who it was. Oh, well!.. it works for me.
With warmth,
Terry
